East River Plaza transformed the former Washburn Wire Factory into a vibrant commercial center in East Harlem. Conveniently located just off the FDR Drive between 116th and 119th Streets, the project created thousands of new jobs, generates millions of dollars in new tax revenue, and provides a unique shopping experience for the community and all New Yorkers.

East River Plaza is an investment in the East Harlem community and will be a catalyst for further economic development. The project created approximately 2,000 construction jobs and is expected to create 1,200 to 2,000 new, permanent retail jobs. East River Plaza is the first retail power center in Manhattan and is home to Costco, Target, Best Buy, Marshalls, Old Navy, PetSmart, Bob’s Discount Furniture, and many others.  The center is attached to a 1,248 car parking garage.
